Binakaan, Tinagalan and Bongawong Schemes
The Binakaan, Tinagalan and Bongawong schemes are a joint venture project between the SLDB and the community participants. The schemes were officially opened in 2004 with 210 participants, and 133 estate workers. The scheme was first initiated by SLDB involving 240 participants from Binakaan, Bayango and Susulat villages who agreed for their land to be developed with 7.5 percent management fees basis. This management fee is derived from the gross income of the beneficiaries effective from the 7th years of cultivation until the expiration of the land development agreement.
